In Nerdheaven we puzzle about many things.
Lately we've been asking ourselves how big we can make a world wide web page. Does that question press on your consciousness too? Well, we have become obsessed with creating the world's widest web page. And so we've busied ourselves trying this and that in order to make a very big page. But as we went further in our quest we realized the multitude of options and experiments possible....
#1. The World's Widest Webpage page (circa 1995).
Not too many images. But it left us with the gnawing feeling that it could've been bigger...
#2. T1 territory.
Piggish and self-indulgent in its use of bandwidth. We threw in lots o' gifs and wide text. On PC's it misbehaves somewhat. Mac's handle this one with aplomb.
#3. Commercial use?
You think this wonky experimental thinking has no place in the commercial world of webdesign?
Above experiments conducted by Franke James in 1995 and 1996.
